Attack Your Life - This Is Not Rocket Science People
I truly believe that in order to make the profound changes in your life that you want to make then you need to keep it simple. Keeping this in mind, here is the next concept that you should grasp.
Stop doing bad things. Start doing good things.
I will give you 3 seconds to digest that. Here is an example of what I am talking about. After one of our recent arguments, and "arguments" is definitely a euphemism here, I explained to my wife how much I dislike fighting with her. Her response, "then stop acting like an jerk."
At first this almost escalated the argument again and then I started laughing. She was right. I was a jerk. If I had not acted like a jerk then we would not have fought. In retrospect that was simple and quite true.
Even though I make light of our Prozac Nation in order to let people know that the vast majority of adults in the U.S. have issues, I also believe that a lot of people who are taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication do not have to be.
I personally have taken Prozac, Effexor, and Wellbutrin. Today I take nothing. By the end of all of my trials with these individual medications I was always maxed out on the FDA recommended maximum dosage. One day my wife asked, "why do you take those if you still act like you do?" I did not have a good answer for her. So I stopped and I went on a path to heal myself from the inside out. A path I still struggle with today.
There are five aspects of your life that most people can and should change. You can change emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially and socially. When you start making correct decisions and eliminating bad decisions in each of these areas then, and only then can you grow.
How do you go about changing these? Through education and practice. Only effort can change those bad habits into good ones. Continue on in this series and we will walk you through it.
