How To Maximise your eBay Profits - Tips to Save on eBay Fees

You've started listing your items on eBay but the fees are crippling your profits, what do you do?

You need to learn how to maximize your profits so you can keep some coin in your wallet. Here are my top three tips to saving on eBay's fees:

1. The best way to reduce your costs and increase your profits on eBay is to start your auction at a low price. This reduces your listing fees. The lower that you can list your item the better - I think starting your auctions at 0.99 cents is a very wise tactic since it's only 20 cents to list at this price. Oh No, you say, I can't afford to sell my item for that low! Most people are afraid of starting their auctions so low for fear that they'll be stuck having to give away their item for peanuts.

However that is rarely the case. When buyers see an item at a cheap starting price they can't wait to get it for themselves, and start bidding. Pretty soon you'll have a bidding war going on and the price will rise very fast! It has been proven that this can actually INCREASE the final selling price.

2. Don't include a Reserve Price and you'll save 1 dollar or more. Yes I know it's scary, but having a reserve actually puts a lot of buyers off and can hinder the final price that you get. Be brave and ditch the reserve.

3. Ignore the sales pitch to upgrade your listing. eBay's listing upgrade features are expensive and unless you are selling an item valued at over $200, they are entirely unnecessary - except for one.

The only listing upgrade that you should consider is the Gallery. This puts a picture of your item in the search pages. People tend to bid higher on items that include a picture so the small fee for this is probably worth your money.

These tips will help you save on your Ebay listings and therefore maximize your profits. Making a profit with eBay is easier when you reduce your fees.
