The Path Of Hope

My word for today is: Hope

Tiny bubbles dancing in the wind, bursting with the vibrant colors of wonder, splendor and awe . Painting upon the canvas of our lives the infinite possibilities of our dreams.

Hope has been the fuel that has allowed me to persistently strive to change my life, improve myself and to be more then the very limits I have experienced.

Even when I was caught within the grips of my addiction, there was always that little something inside that whispered to me......that there was more.

More then the hopeless state I existed in.
More then a life chasing after the next one.
More than a life lived wasting away in the cesspool of addiction.

When the moment presented itself; that place within me of wanting, dreaming and wonder, allowed me to step onto the path that would lead me from the life of addiction I had lived for so long to a life I had forgotten was possible.

Hope paved my way to freedom.

This applies today as much as it did when I first made the decision to stop using drugs and change my life. I had to dream the possibilities of a life free from the grips, before the opportunity could present itself.

Life will only offer you that which you have the capacity to see.

Although It had spend over half my life separated from the sweet freedom of not using drugs, I still would wonder if it was a possibility. I would question the statistics that said it could not happen, I would challenge the clinics that told me the chances were slim, I would not accept that the only reality would be one defined by the limitations of others or by myself.

I tapped into the infinite possibilities of my dreams and at that point it was simple....

I just wanted freedom from my addiction.

So today I still question, ponder and challenge myself as well as others. The questions have changed through this process, new things are pondered upon and challenges once not available are discovered from within. I know that the very process of doing these very things releases those tiny bubbles of possibilities, that float, flutter and dance in the wind.

Painting upon the canvas of my life, a bridge of hope between what I have known and that of which I dare to dream. Allowing me the opportunity to take the first steps of faith towards the person I wish to be and the person I now choose to be.
